What the OSA offers on Registration International Licence & Insurance Member to Member Club Insurance Instructors may order individual student licences to reduce costs and risks of block ordering Individual professional instructor insurance is provided only as and when requested Reduced rates for less ‘risky’ policies For practitioners, with a current insurance policy, this service is optional however proof of a current policy is expected on Registration
Recognition by other organisations We promote 'informed consent' as part of the learning process We provide educational programmes that facilitate your martial arts achievements towards generic educational qualifications We are currently working towards having college and university status We provide Vocational Programmes which include First Aid and Leadership Courses for both students and instructors to promote high professional standards for martial arts Your current martial arts qualifications, knowledge and experience is validated to allow you to be 'fast tracked', reducing the financial cost and time to complete Programmes are delivered online in conjunction with regional workshops for those who would otherwise find it logistically too difficult to attend We have created a Modular Training Framework which presents a wide range of flexible, relevant and high quality training opportunities, this includes a FREE e-APL service

The OSA is working to bring all sport & martial arts together through education Step 1: Invite all current individuals to register onto our Database and give them a unique Registration number to identify them Step 2: Invite them to complete an APL to reduce costs and time to validate their knowledge and experience Step3: Deliver the relevant courses, in partnership with schools, colleges and universities to support their learning needs Step 4: Invite the Registered Individuals, with the relevant qualifications, to deliver courses and events of their choosing to be used as a database both regionally, nationally and internationally REGISTRATION PROCESS Complete the appropriate Application details below that most suits you, defining your wish to register with the OSA, and thereafter the Rules PDF and Individual Registration PDF will be sent to you regarding completing the registration process

OSA Applications For individuals who solely train with the OSA
OSA Student Student n. a person following a course of study, as in a school, college or university Awarded to those who hold a rank below Brown Belt/Sash and over 18 years Candidates must be on an OSA Full Time Course
Benefits: Being part of the student programme allows the individual to enjoy the full learning experience of the OSA modular learning programme Students will receive FREE OSA insurance
OSA Mentor Instructor Mentor n. a wise or trusted advisor or guide. (Collins English Dictionary) Awarded to those who hold a rank of Brown Belt/Sash and over 18 years Those who are also enrolled onto the OSA ITC Course Candidates must be on an OSA Full Time Course
Benefits: Being part of the mentor instructor programme allows individuals to develop both as a student and gives support and the opportunity to develop teaching skills Mentor Instructors will receive FREE OSA insurance (subject to individual policy)

Associate Applications For practitioners who have alliances with their own club but wish to benefit from the opportunities of the OSA All OSA Associates must provide evidence of an up to date insurance policy OSA insurance will be provided if needed

Martial Art Induction Certificate Martial Art n. any of various philosophies of self-defence and techniques of single combat, originating in the Far East. (Collins English Dictionary)
Through the use of modular distance learning programmes developed by the Oriental Sports Association, the study of the martial arts can now be accepted as an entry requirement for courses, which could lead to academic and vocational qualifications in higher education, depending on the academic ability of the student For the first time, students of the martial arts now have the opportunity to improve the standards of martial art practice, and have their courses accredited and validated

Sport Art Induction Certificate The course explains how to introduce the new modular system of physical and academic learning to both new and existing students, and also outlines the correct methods to adopt in order to develop a successful sport arts practice. These involve the conversion of any existing sport art training syllabus to a modular format, which will then be validated by the Oriental Sports Association.
