APL Application Although these courses are aimed for individuals with no martial arts experience, those with prior martial arts experience and knowledge are invited to attend an Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) Interview The benefits are explained below Reasons
for claiming credit through APL include: You can save time by completing your course more quickly Progressing at your own pace and not having to wait for others You can avoid having to repeat learning already undertaken If you move from one club to another, then you will be accredited with your present grade You
can have learning and capabilities gained through experience recognised at
Higher Education level Accreditation for previous experience is rewarded
You can save money if you are paying by the module Reduced rates are offered for monthly agreements The Oriental Sports Association also recognise that many students, and particular mature students, also possess an extensive range of skills and knowledge derived from a variety of professional, vocational, community, leisure and personal contexts APL provides students with the opportunity to have this prior learning counted as part of their course If you are unsure about the level of your previous study, don’t let this stop you from applying Click here for more information on APL’s

Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL Form) Open to all OSA Registered Individuals Complete an online OSA APL Application Form Producing evidence based information necessary for verification, by the WorldMAC Alliance which will be verified for academic martial arts courses
For newly qualified Black Belt/Sash or equivalent who require support in their new role as an instructor or For former students who wish return to training but need updating with their syllabus you are invited to enrol onto the Preceptorship Framework
The Online APL Application will ask for you generic and martial arts qualifications On completion, you will be returned to this Homepage
